Transfer Station

Commercial Contractor Waste, Dead Animals, and Tires of all sizes are taken at the Scott County Transfer Station. The Transfer Station is also open to the public and can receive household solid waste, brush, solid waste produced in agricultural activities, metal & white goods, block and bricks, and provides a much easier unloading facility for large loads and heavy items such as furniture, appliances, etc.

No Hazardous Material or Free Liquids Including: pesticides, paints, fuels, or chemicals. Those items may be disposed of at the Hazardous Waste Pickup Event, held annually in Sept.

Fees:

1. Transfer Station Tipping Fee is $60.00 per ton.
2. Solid waste weighed at the Transfer Station will have the tipping fee applied in the following categories: 
   • Bagged Commercial Waste:  any nonhazardous solid waste derived from a commercial establishment that can be placed in a trash bag, which shall not exceed forty (40) gallon capacity.
   • Commercial Waste:  all materials or substances from any retail, wholesale, or commercial establishment.
   • Industrial Waste:  all materials or substances related to manufacturing, processing or production.
   • Structural Waste:  all building materials resulting from erecting, removing, repairing, remodeling or razing buildings or other structures.
3. Exemptions from the Transfer Station Tipping Fee shall apply to individual residents as described in Article 4, Section 1, (d), (e), and (f) of the Scott County Solid Waste Control Ordinance who dispose of solid waste in the following categories:
   • Household Waste:  any waste material, including garbage, trash, and refuse, derived from households, including single-family and multiple-family residences, hotels, motels, bunkhouses, ranger stations, crew quarters, campgrounds, picnic grounds, and day-use recreation areas.
   • Bulk Waste:  appliances, furniture, bedding material, automobile parts, mechanical equipment, mechanical parts, and carpet.
   • Yard Waste:  all materials from trees, shrubbery, leaves, fallen branches, lawn trimmings, and other woody waste.
   • Animal carcass:  agricultural animals, pets, wildlife.  No more than two per trip.

Tire Fee: 

$1 per Light Truck and Passenger

$5 per tire for 20” to 24.5” rim size

$10 per tire for tires with rim size over 24.5” (must be cut in quarters.)
