SPEECH THERAPY SERVICES
IN PERSON THERAPY
Scott County Public Schools is requesting sealed bids for Speech Therapy services from responsible vendors. Proposals need to address the following specifications:
Sealed bids are due by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2023. Bids should be sealed in an envelope marked “Speech Therapy Services – In Person” and submitted to Brenda Robinette, Scott County School Board Office, 340 E. Jackson Street, Gate City, VA 24251. If you wish to submit bids by email, send to by separate attachment, all bids will be opened and reviewed on June 26, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. If no bids are received by this date, Scott County reserves the right to accept the most qualified candidate with bids received within a reasonable timeline to meet the needs of Scott County’s academic 2023-2024 year. Scott County Schools has the right to reject any and all proposals. Any bid not addressing the services Scott County determines necessary to the development of the student such as furnishing personnel, labor and consultation when needed; also, other services as determined appropriate by the Special Education Supervisor will not be considered. The therapist must hold a Master’s degree in his/her field and provide documentation of his/her ASHA licensure and State licensure. The candidate will be required to bill for Medicaid. Each candidate will be reimbursed travel at Scott County’s rate of travel reimbursement if the candidate has to travel between schools.
Scott County School System will determine the bid award based on but not limited to the following:
- The vendor will provide Speech Therapy evaluations, treatments and assessments by licensed staff that is appropriate to the student in a school setting.
- The Therapist will provide in person therapy.
- The vendor will develop a treatment plan and/or manage therapy sessions for referred students as stated in VA state guidelines
- The therapist will maintain communication between school personnel and other appropriate treatment staff.
- The therapist will monitor student progress and report those findings through IEP paperwork/meetings, etc. to appropriate personnel.
Scott County School System will begin said agreement on August 15, 2023 with an option to renew for four (4) one-year additional terms. This agreement shall be terminated within 30 days by either party if an agreement of services cannot be reached.
The vendor awarded the bid shall provide insurance for their personnel under this agreement with Scott County School System.
Payment terms will coincide with the Scott County School Board meeting dates, which normally fall on the first Tuesday of each month.
During the performance of this contract, the vendor will not discriminate against any student or employee because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or other basis prohibited by law.
During the performance of this contract, the vendor agrees to provide a drug-free workforce.
During the performance of this contract, the vendor agrees to follow the Code of Virginia on sex offender’s entry onto school property and provide written statements on all work forces on school property.
