Grants - Applications, paperwork, financial and research for future grants. Administration of grants.
Senior Citizen Activities (County-wide).
Sponsor Programs.
Continued development of the Nickelsville Area Rec. Project (Keith Memorial Park).
Planning/Upgrading and development of present & future recreation sites throughout Scott County.
Maintenance of facilities county-wide.
Scheduling and assisting with maintenance of school facilities (i.e. parks and gym usage county-wide, see facilities list)
Work/assist school sports booster clubs, PTAs, Honor Societies, and school trips with fundraising at SCRD activities and events.
Work/assist local Little League and High School Baseball/Softball Programs county-wide. Also, AAU/Travel Basketball Teams and Upward Basketball.

Scott County Park & Golf Course

The Scott County Park & Golf Course is pleased to again offer four (4) Golf leagues in 2008:

Industrial League registration is complete and will begin play on April 20 and continue every Tuesday weather permitting.
Church League registration is currently underway and will begin play on May 5 and continue on Mondays (weather permitting). For information or to register, call Wally Ford at (276) 386-9615
Open League registration is currently underway with play beginning May 1 and continuing Thursdays (weather permitting). For information or to register, call (276) 452-4168.
Junior Golf League registration is currently underway with play beginning June 11 and continuing on Wednesdays (weather permitting). For information call (276) 452-2442.

Fees for all the leagues except Junior Golf League are: $45 per player for the season and $6 cart fee per player per round. All teams are made up of four-persons playing a Select Shot Format.

NOTE: All golfers must be on site and ready to play 15 minutes prior to the 6 p.m. "Shotgun Start" for all league play.

The Rally Mart Open Golf Championships (formerly the Scott County Open) will be held May 3 & 4. The individual tournament will follow a standard 36-hole format. Cost(s) for the open are $60 plus cart fees (all players must ride a cart). Fee includes one practice round. For information, please call (276) 452-4168.

The Annual 3-Ball Memorial Golf Tournament will be held May 24 & 25. The Memorial will be a three-person Select Shot Tournament. Cost(s) $60 & cart fees are included. For information call the SCP&GC at (276) 452-4168.

2008 Adult Doubles Tournament - ONE-DAY EVENT:

Aug 16 - 7th Annual Scott County Virginia Star Doubles Summer Slam - DEADLINE AUG 7.

Summer Tenis Clinics:

June 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, & 26; July 8, 10, 15, & 17
Cost(s) are $50 per person for the entire summer; $75 per family; or $7 per person per class
NOTE: Make-ups will be held for the Tuesday classes on Wednesday and Thursday classes will be made up on the following Monday.
Boys & Girls Ages 5-8; 10-10:45 a.m.
Boys & Girls Ages 9-12; 11-noon
Boys & Girls High School Academy (High School Players): 5-6 p.m.
Boys & Girls Ages 13 & UP, Adult/Beginners/Intermediates: 6-6:55 p.m.
